The first time in the history if the ASA, there will be a non-literary keynote. The keynote speaker for the ASA 2013 is Lukas Meyer - a Professor of Practical Philosophy.

Lukas Meyer is University Professor of Practical Philosophy, Head of Department of Philosophy, Leader of FWF Research Project “Climate Change and Justice at the Kalr-Franzens-Universität Graz.

He studied Philosophy, Political Science, History and Public International Law at the University of Tübingen, Free University Berlin, Washington University in St. Louis, Yale Law School and the University of Oxford

His primary areas of research revolve around the themes of Historical Justice, Justice and Responsibility in Space and Time,  and Legitimacy, Justice and Public International Law
