Conference Title: REIMAGINING SPACE, PLACE, AND BELONGING IN AUSTRIAN HISTORY, POLITICS, LITERATURE, AND FILM
Description: This conference is dedicated to the scholarly examination of historical, political, literary, and cinematic works from Austria that celebrate its linguistic and cultural diversity while also dealing with the complexities of belonging and displacement, diaspora, and migration.
The period focus of the conference is the 18th-century to the present, though paper proposals addressing any timeframe are encouraged and will be considered. Presentations that include reimagining Austrian spaces through life-stories, multilingualism, migration, and notions of home and civility are especially welcome.
